The Negotiation Challenge 2012 took place on April 13-14 in Paris, France. The competition was organized by the students from IESEG School of Management.
Participants
We received many great applications and decided to extend the format of TNC and have 18 teams compete from leading universities instead of the original 12. During TNC 2012, 18 teams from 13 countries competed against each other in realistic team negotiation situations. Venues
The negotiation rounds of TNC 2012 took place in various venues spread across the whole city of Paris:
Round 1 – La Grande Arche – IESEG School of Management in La Défense
La Défense is Paris’ business center (and the biggest in mainland Europe) where enterprises such as Total, Arcelor, AXA and Société Générale have their headquarters. La Grande Arche is the cube-shaped 110 meters height centerpiece of La Défense.
IESEG School of Management, the business school organizing TNC 2012, is located within the Grande Arche. The first challenge was held on its premises.
Round 2 – International Chamber of Commerce
Located in the heart of Paris, ICC headquarters will host TNC the afternoon. The mission of ICC, the World Business Organization, is to promote entrepreneurship, international trade, and the market economy.
Round 3 – French cafés
During the third round, the negotiating teams enjoyed their breakfast at scenically located cafés on Montmartre.
Round 4 – Espace Montmartre
This venue offers a panoramic view on Paris and is located next to the famous Sacré Coeur basilica.
Final – Chez Jenny, République
The final round and Gala took place in this typical Alsatian restaurant located on the famous Place de la République.
Winners
The final of The Negotiation Challenge 2012 took place between the students of HHL – Graduate School of Management and ESSEC Business School. The jury decided that the title of Great Negotiators 2012 and the trophy should go to the team representing ESSEC Business School.
The winning team consisted of the following students: Lijoy Varghese, Satadru Chakraborty, Sriram Raghavan.
