Staple Rights is two party multi-issue, integrative negotiation role play simulation between the official trade delegation of the 15th century City of Leipzig and representatives of the Holy Roman Emperor, Maximilian I. Having enjoyed a long period of economic growth and prosperity, Leipzig is ready to take its place with the upper echelon of other Holy Roman Empire cities. To do this, it feels it must obtain the economic boosting staple rights that other key cities possess and that only the Emperor can bestow. Having already obtained a positive response from the Emperor, the details must now be negotiated with his trade delegation. However, the emperor will have greater regional economic and political stability in mind and will want to limit the terms.
